...Transitions...

The thing about life is: nothing stays the same very long. And seemingly, things change overnight.

But what about those seasons when everything feels off-kilter and every step unsure? The weeks and months where life is unsettled and decisions drown your brain? When you're letting go of some things but also reaching towards new things?

Transitions. They are everywhere.

Transitions feel like stepping across a bridge suspended over a threatening sea. You can see where you're headed but each step feels dangerous. And what lies behind you is comfortable yet somehow no longer appealing.

Don't look back.

Lot's wife looked back on her hometown instead of ahead at what God was doing and it destroyed her. Literally.

Don't look around.

Peter walked on water as long as his eyes were on Jesus. But when he looked at the storm around him, he started to sink.

Life is full of transitions and transitions are full of opportunities to lose your focus. Maybe you're launching a baby bird from your nest, moving into a new role at work, climbing a winding path of illness and healing or battling the bodily betrayal of perimenopause. Whatever transition you're walking into -- or out of -- remember these two things: 1- the only way through is through and 2- keep your eyes on The One who knows the way.
